ESSAY/RESEARCH CONTEST
The 67th Alpha Kappa Mu National Convention invites student researchers to share papers, projects and essays supporting the convention theme: Navigating the Pandemic – Recovering, Refocusing, Redefining – A Strategy. Grab your paper or research project proposal that you have submitted for a class and share it on Thursday, March 31, 2023, during our Second General Session.
Your research and/or paper will benefit:
You, the student:
- Improving your critical thinking and social interaction skills
Your campus:
- Maximizing research talent and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration; and
Our society:
- Advancing research through innovative approaches and solutions
Paper Guidelines
The recommended paper should
- Consist of no more than ten double-spaced pages
- Adhere to MLA, APA, Chicago or Turabian documentation style and
- Be reviewed for grammar and/or punctuation errors.
- Be submitted in PDF.
PowerPoint Guidelines
Essays must also be accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation which must be submitted as well.
- The recommended maximum number of slides is 5.
- The time allotted for each Scholar during the essay competition should be 15 minutes total, which includes ten minutes for the presentation, three minutes for questions, and two minutes for transition time.
